Mycoplasma genitalium test~Mycoplasma genitalium is established clinically as a sexually transmitted infection and continues to generate interest.
Mycoplasma genitalium in male non-gonococcal urethritis has been well documented with PCR based testing and appears to be detected with the highest prevalence in men who are Chlamydia trachomatis negative.
In women M. genitalium can be detected in the genital tract and is found most commonly in those with genital tract symptoms (cervicitis and urethritis) or those who have an infected male partner. There is a recognised association between past infection with M. genitalium and tubal factor infertility.
Who should take the test?Testing can be useful for men with symptomatic non-gonococcal urethritis, persistent infection and recurrent symptoms after treatment, or for complications such as epididymitis and prostatitis – and for women with genital tract symptoms, genital discharge, pelvic pain and intermenstrual bleeding is reasonable.
How to complete the testSimply use the test bottle enclosed to capture the first urine of the day. Complete the form in the test kit and return using the postage paid reply envelope to our laboratory.
Your results can then be obtained 48hrs after we recieve your test simply and anonymously by entering your user id and password in our log in section.

This test consists of all the items needed to complete a PCR test at our laboratory, the Gold Standard in this type of testing. This includes full instructions, the test components and a reply paid envelope to our laboratory. It is double wrapped in case the package is damaged in transit and a security seal must be broken to use the test. The package itself is completely discreet with no external marking of Veolabs.
How does the test work?
Your test is based upon a urine sample which you provide for us at home and send back to our laboratory using the reply paid envelope included. There is no more to pay as the test is completely self contained.
How do I receive my results?
Your results will be available for you 48 hours after your test is received at our laboratory. Your results will be available to view on our secure server 24 hours a day by entering the results page on our website.
You will need to enter your unique customer ID and code which you will receive with your test to retrieve your results. These will be displayed on the screen along with information pertinant to the test results. Your name and address will be withheld from the report to allow your complete anonimity.
